About us

A practice built on the exam and the explanation

Spur Wellness was started by Dr. Nolan Carbone, a chiropractor licensed in Iowa, for households who want to know what is being done and why.

Every visit begins with a conversation and an exam. Treatment follows only after you have heard the options, the risks and the cost. Dr. Carbone works with one front-desk coordinator, so you see the same two faces each time.

  • One doctor, one plan

Dr. Carbone sets your plan after the exam and walks you through it.

  • Questions welcome

Risks, cost and options are part of every visit.

  • Your choice at every step

You can say no to any part of care, or stop, at any time.

Your visits

How a course of care goes

  1. A practitioner in scrubs stretches the raised leg of a man sitting on a gym floor
    01

    Assessment

A history and an exam of how you move. Imaging only when the doctor decides it is medically necessary.

  2. A practitioner presses on the shoulders of a woman sitting on a treatment table
    02

    Your plan

After the exam you hear what was found and the options. How many visits depends on the exam and your goals.

  3. A practitioner presses on the knee of a seated woman who holds her shoulder
    03

    Your care

Manual care, soft tissue work and exercises for home, chosen with you.

  4. A woman on a yoga mat kneels on one hand and lifts her leg back toward her head

    Check-ins

We review how you are doing, change the plan with you, or refer you on when another provider is the better step.
