How fees work

Plain answers on paying for care, before you book.

  • Insurance we work with

We bill most PPO plans and some employer plans. What a plan pays for chiropractic visits differs from plan to plan, so we check yours before your first visit. Medicare Part B covers manual spinal manipulation only. After the Part B deductible you pay 20 percent, and if we suggest care Medicare does not cover, we ask you to sign a notice first.

    • Most PPO plans

    • Some employer plans

    • Ask us about yours

  • If you pay yourself

Without insurance, Dr. Carbone tells you the fee for each part of your visit before it happens, and you pay at the visit. The front desk can hand you the practice’s fee list at any time.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After every visit you can have an itemized receipt. If your plan reimburses care outside its network, you send the receipt to the plan, and the plan decides what it pays.

  • An estimate in advance

If you do not use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you a written estimate in advance, before your first visit, and we answer your questions about it.

  • Checking your benefits

Our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit and calls you with what it finds, including any copay or deductible. You can also ask your plan about chiropractic visits.

  • What the first visit includes

The first visit takes about 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are shorter.

    • A history and an exam

    • Your options and their risks explained

    • Treatment only if you agree

What happens at a first visit

To cancel or change a visit, call as early as you can. Ask the front desk about the practice’s cancellation policy.
